Regulation Updates for February:
1. Reminder on the CTI December 2023 Newsletter: Singapore IMDA will deregister and stop all sales of already approved 3G-only mobile phones and non-VoLTE capable smartphones on February 1, 2024. All 3G networks and services will cease on July 31, 2024.
2. Updating on July 2023 CTI Newsletter: On January 9, 2024, India BIS made parallel testing, which was announced in year 2022 and 2023, a permanent scheme. In addition, it is now extended to all product categories under BIS CRS.
3. India TEC has extended deadline for the implementation of 12 products under Phase III and IV by three months from January 1, 2024 to April 1, 2024. The mandatory certification date for the remaining 32 products (ERs) remains January 1, 2024.Products that can originally use ILAC accredited test reports from foreign laboratories issued within 2 years, they can now be accepted until March 31, 2024.Also, according to December 26, 2023 Notification, the mandatory security testing requirement for all Wi-Fi customer premises equipment (CPE) and IP routers is extended again from January 1, 2023, to April 1, 2024.
4. India TEC published a notice on December 27, 2023, re-categorizing products under General Certification Scheme (GCS) and Simplified Certification Scheme (SCS). The effective date will be January 1, 2024. In total, there are 11 products for GCS and 49 products for SCS.
5. Indonesia SDPPI updated EMC testing parameters, which will be mandatory starting January 1, 2024.
6. Morocco ANRT published Decision ANRT/DG/N°12/23 of 2 kaada 1444 (22 May 2023), which cancels the old Decision ANRT/DG/No. 04/14 of 17 February 2014.
7. Chile SUBTEL published resolution 16-01-2024, with requirements for antennas of open terrestrial digital television receiver devices.
